One of my favorite (and the easiest!) ways to save money is by stocking up on foods when the prices are at their lowest. I can buy foods for 50-60% of their regular prices. The best part about stocking up when things are on sale is that it doesn’t take a lot of my time. Just stock up to really save money on your grocery bill.
I love finding Christmas clearance in early January. I usually buy most everything the day after Christmas, but I can sometimes find some really good deals in the beginning of January. I also love buying winter clearance. I know, it's still winter but stores tend to put those winter coats on clearance by the end of January. Buy the kiddos one size up in coats and gloves now to really save! Check out what to buy (and skip) in January.
Seasonal Produce
January doesn't have a bunch of fresh fruit deals, but you can get a few deals on some in season produce. Look for apples, brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, clementines, grapefruit, leeks, lemons, oranges, pomegranates, potatoes, spinach and tangerines to get the best prices on fruits and vegetables.
Diet and Breakfasts Foods
A new year means New Years Resolutions and making up for over eating during the Holidays. We will see sales on diet foods and diet bars. You can get some great deals on cereals, too. January is National Oatmeal Month so we will see lots of fantastic sales on Oatmeal. If you use oatmeal for cooking or like the packets you can stock up.
Snack Foods
In addition to diet and health food, we will also see some great deals on snack foods. The end of January means Super Bowl party time! We will see lots of sales on chips, dips, wings, pizzas, and sandwich items. Grab a couple frozen pizzas to throw in the freezer for those busy nights you just don’t feel like cooking.
Cold & Flu Meds
It's cold and flu season here and there are good sales because of it. Grab some cold medicine and vitamins when they are a great deal and you will have them if you get sick. Save yourself some money and trip to the store when you are sick.
Skip It
Although all the jewelry companies want you to think you need to get that Valentine's Day gift now, it is best to hold off. The really good deals don't usually start until the beginning of February. Skip it this month to save some extra. Another one to skip is tax software. Normally the sales don't start until mid-February.
So save a little extra cash this year by stocking up when prices drop. What do you like to stock up on in January?

I can't believe valentine's day stuff is already out! It has be thinking of boxed chocolate already! I can't tell you how hard the urge to resist is. But I know it'll be cheaper next month.

It's crazy how early they put out things. I saw swimsuits at Costco yesterday!

I buy my boys bath kits after Christmas then put them in their Easter baskets. I got them ones with a citrus body spray. I also bought another roll of Super hero gift wrap just in case it would be hard to find as deals go more discounted. I like to use it to wrap gifts for my oldest son when he gets invited to kids parties. I am going to look for gift card tins/boxes when they become more discounted. I use them to put silver coins in for gifts for my kids and nephews. I am also going to look for clearance clothing in January as well. For myself with my new job and for my oldest son for next year. Hope you had a good Christmas:)
