Inside: Want to save more money? Check out the top things to stock up on in March and save all year long. It's an easy way to save more money without much work.
One of my favorite (and one of the easiest!) ways to save money is by stocking up on foods when the prices are at their lowest. I can buy foods for 50-60% of the regular prices. The best part about stocking up when things are on sale is that it doesn’t take a lot of my time. Just stock up to really save money on your grocery bill.
March is one of those crazy months where the weather is all over the place. It doesn't really feel like spring yet here in Indiana, however, most of the winter clothes have been cleared out. You can occasionally still find some great clearance deals on winter clothes. Buy the kiddos one size up in coats and gloves now to really save! Check out the top things to stock up on in March to save more money this year.
Seasonal Produce
We still don’t have a lot of seasonal produce right now in March. However, you can find deals on Artichokes, Avocados, Beets, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Leeks, Lemons, Limes, Potatoes, Tangerines, and Spinach. Plus expect to see lots of sales on cabbage because of Saint Patrick’s Day. If you like to pickle cabbage now is the time to really stock up.
Frozen Foods
March is national frozen foods month. If your family regularly eats frozen foods it is a wonderful time to stock up on everything from frozen pizza to frozen fish. We will see lots of great sales and coupons to go with the deals. Even if your family isn't big into frozen foods consider picking up a couple frozen pizzas. I love to buy some frozen pizzas when they are on sale. I use them for busy nights when I don’t feel like cooking or when things get really crazy.
Household Cleaners
In addition to frozen food month, March is also spring cleaning month. Everyone gets into spring cleaning mode this month. We will see sales and deals on all the household cleaners and supplies. Stock up on enough to last you a couple of months. I can often find cleaners for free or very cheap around this time of year. I will buy as much as I think I will use in one year. It’s a great way to save money on those household supplies.
St. Patrick’s Day Foods
St. Patrick’s Day is in March and will bring good deals on corned beef, cabbage, and other St. Patrick’s Day items. Wait until after St. Patrick’s Day to really see some deals. If your family likes corned beef you can buy and freeze it. I like to grab a few on clearance and freeze them. Corned beef makes an easy crock pot meal for busy nights.
Winter Clearance
Spring is on its way and we will see huge winter clearance sales. I love getting a size up snow pants and winter coats for my son on mega clearance. I can often find all kinds of winter clothes on sale for 75% off or even more. It’s a fantastic time to stock up for next winter. Check out your favorite stores for some winter clearance deals.

I bet there will be spring cleaning deals on robots too - I purchased a Roomba last fall and a Braava last month. They are my favorite little helpers!

The Braava looks like so much fun! I might have to watch for a deal on one.
