Want to spend less money this year? One of the easiest ways to spend less money is by purchasing items when they are at their lowest price. You can save so much on your grocery bill just by purchasing items when they are on sale. I like to stock up while they are low to really save. Check out the top 5 things to buy in January and save more money.
Diet Foods- We always kick off the New Year with some great deals on diet foods. If you like the protein bars, shakes or other kind of diet or health foods now is the time to pick them up.
Granola Bars- There will great deals on granola/breakfast bars for most of January. I love having breakfast bars on hand for a quick snack or breakfast. If your family likes granola bars, pick up some boxes to last a while.
Oatmeal- January is National Oatmeal Month so we will see lots of great sales on Oatmeal. If you use oatmeal for cooking or like the packets you can stock up.
Frozen Pizza- Toward the end of January we will start seeing sales on frozen foods for the Super Bowl. There are always lots of great deals on frozen pizzas. It's a good time to buy a few for those crazy nights when you don't have time to cook.
Cold Medicine and Vitamins- It seems like come January and February almost everyone is sick. Grab some cold medicine and vitamins when they are a great deal and you will have them if you get sick. I hate going to the store when I am sick.
So save a little extra cash this year by stocking up when prices drop. What do you like to stock up on in January?

While it's not at the grocery store, you can also find great deals on gym memberships and other exercise equipment during January. Amazon often runs sales on workout DVDs and yoga equipment.

I know that no parent wants to think about toys right now. However, I buy a LOT of birthday presents when the toys are marked for clearance. I also get my wrapping paper, bags, and bows for the next year's Christmas presents.
