I love going out on Saturdays and getting some fantastic garage sale deals. I have been able to buy things that I normally wouldn't be able to afford to purchase brand new. It's a fun and pretty frugal way to spend my Saturdays. About 90% of my kiddo's clothes came from garage sales the first couple of years. We have bought toys, furniture, and even a chandelier at yard sales.
Unfortunately, I have occasionally bought stuff that we didn't need or didn't work. Like the time I bought an end table only to get it home and realize it was way too big and didn't work. There wasn't enough space to fit it and the couch in the room. After making that mistake a couple of times I finally realized how nice it is to have a list of what I would like to buy. I like to write down what I am looking for and what size I need. A garage sale shopping list printable works great to make sure you don't over buy or get the wrong size.
You can use this printable to keep track of what you are looking for and the size you need. I normally keep an eye on coats that are one to two sizes larger for my son. It's so much cheaper than buying coats brand new in the store. I can just put it on my list and keep an eye out for a great deal. Any furniture I am looking for I include on the list and make sure I have the measurements I need so I don't buy too big again.
Just head over here to grab this garage sale shopping printable. It's just an easy way to keep track of what you need for the next year. Just print it, write down what you will need over the next year and carry it with you when you head out to the garage sales. Love to save money?
