One of my favorite (and the easiest!) ways to save money is by stocking up on foods when the prices are at their lowest. I can buy foods for 50-60% of their regular prices. The best part about stocking up when things are on sale is that it doesn’t take a lot of my time. Just stock up to really save money on your grocery bill.
July has some great deals. There is plenty of produce in stock and lots of 4th of July deals. Check out what to buy (and skip) in July.
Seasonal Produce
I love all the produce we see on sale this time of year. It is a great time to really stock up on what you can. I like to make all of my preserves during this time. It’s a great way to save my family some money and we get homemade, too.
We will see sales on Blueberries, Cantaloupe, Corn, Cucumbers, Garlic, Grapes, Green Beans, Kiwi, Peaches, Strawberries, Summer Squash, Tomatoes, and Watermelon.
Foods
It’s National Ice Cream Month, so there will be some fantastic sales on ice cream and ice cream novelties. It’s also national hot dog month, so we will see lots of sales on hot dogs and other grilling items. Plus, with the 4th of July, we should see great Soda and Iced Tea Sales. You can really stock up on hot dogs, chips, buns, and drinks. Fill that freezer full!
Other Sales
After the 4th of July, there will be some good sales on grills and fireworks. If you need a new grill it will be the best time to buy it. Also, keep in mind you can buy fireworks and keep them until next year. It's a great way to save money.
Toward the end of July we will start to see some sales on school supplies. Remember to stock up for your home and office too.
Skip It
Skip the laptops and lawnmowers in July. The really good sales on back to school laptops don't usually start until the beginning of August. If you can wait until then. Lawnmowers also won't go on sale until almost the end of summer. Hold off until mid-August or September if you can. We picked one up for 50% off by waiting until the end of September last year.
So grab a couple of great deals this month to really save some extra cash. Want to know the best things to buy every month? Check out my what to buy and when? a guide to sales cycles. What do you plan on stocking up on in July?

If you have kids this seems to be a great way to SPEND money - on medical bills, or perhaps higher insurance costs due to fire damage. Even without kids, I wouldn't be surprised if the insurance companies didn't thing storing fireworks was a plus!
