Do you see the amazing deals that people are getting by buying clothes online, but are too scared to buy your clothes online? What if it doesn't fit right or what if it looks completely different when you get it? For years I passed up all kinds of deals because I thought buying clothes online would be too much of a pain.
Finally, I got brave and started to buy more clothes online. I have figured out these 7 tips for buying clothes online. Now, I get all kinds of fantastic deals by purchasing clothes online.
Buy Brands You Know
You know that favorite shirt that you love but can't find more of? Look online. You already know that it works well for you, so if you find a great deal in another color go for it. White House Black Market always fits me and I know what size works for me. I know if I get something in a medium from them, it will fit. Plus, their clothes tends to be pretty pricey, so I can usually find some gently used shirts that are in my price range online.
Compare Measurements
Unfortunately, most clothing doesn't look the same on all people as it does on the models. You can't always tell from the pictures how it will fit you. I am very picky about the length of my shirts. I hate it when a shirt is too short. If I am looking at a shirt online, I will check the measurements of the shirt against one that I already own. It only takes a few minutes and I can make sure that I am getting something that will work well for me.
Use Codes
Have you ever found a fantastic deal on something only to realize that shipping makes not a good deal? I hate when that happens. Usually, before I buy something I check to see if I can find a discount code. I rarely pay for shipping anymore with all the codes that are easy to find. Retail Me Not is a great place to check for coupon codes. Just enter the codes at checkout and save.
Get Credit
I have received a few shirts completely free from places like twice or thredup. They offer up credits when you sign up. Plus, once you sign up they will give you a link to get credits when other people sign up. Just by signing up and telling some friends about it I was able to get a couple of shirts. Twice and Thredup both deal in gently used clothes, so the deals are wonderful!
Free Returns
If you are concerned about things not working, check out their return policy before you buy. So many places now really try to make it easy to return items. Some places will even send you a bag or box with free return shipping. If there is no cost to returning it then it's not a big deal if something doesn't work out. If for some reason the clothes don't fit or you don't like them, you don't want to be out a bunch of cash.
Avoid Things That Need a Perfect Fit
Sweaters, shirts, and skirts are all great clothing items to buy online. You may want to skip something like jeans or shoes that really require a perfect fit and can sometimes be a matter of preference. I am so picky about jeans, I don't even try to buy them online. Avoid items that you are really picky about being a perfect fit and save those for the stores where you can try them on.
Read The Reviews
Reviews can be so helpful in deciding whether or not to buy something. I try to always read the reviews to make sure people are happy with what they have received. If you see lots of comments like "looked better in the picture" you may just want to skip the items. I have also noticed people will leave comments like "true to size" or "runs really big" these can all be really helpful in deciding if you want to buy the clothes.
The buying of clothes online can be a thing of the past with these 7 tips and tricks. See a good deal? Go on ahead and grab it.

Twice was my favorite way to shop online, but since they closed a couple weeks ago, I have to find a new online favorite. I will greatly miss them and the deals I found there!
